Way to Win 2020 Q3 Report
Winners,
We’ve made it through the 3rd Quarter, with the Election less than a month away. We’re moving fast and staying agile to follow the trends, prepare for the threats and defend our votes as we enter into the final moments of the Cycle. Here are the top lines:
We have moved $43,264,476 in both aligned and direct giving so far in 2020, which brings us to $70,383,293 in aligned and direct giving for the cycle, as of the end of the third quarter.
Despite the limits of the pandemic, our groups in the states are reporting back encouraging numbers from their voter registration and GOTV efforts. Florida Immigrant Coalition dialed over 1 million Floridians this quarter, 6,500 of which were first time voters in the primaries elections. TakeAction Minnesota has run digital ads that reached nearly 80,000 people, and Democracy North Carolina increased the amount of early voting hours by 70%, doubling the amount of Sunday hours in NC counties. Make the Road PA, through entirely remote phone and text banks, contacted over 250,000 voters to ensure they’re registered with a plan to execute. LUCHA in Arizona launched www.voteriazz to boost their registrations, and MOVE Texas hosted the biggest online National Registration Day event in the U.S. See the full list of partners we’ve funding here.
In addition to funding our groups core strategies, Way to Win has also made digital risk management a priority this quarter. Project Veritas is launching attacks and attempting to discredit and harm organizers using deceitful, and oftentimes illegal, tactics — a reminder that the Right will stop at nothing to impede democracy and halt our momentum. We’ve coordinated with our squad of funding partners in preparation to defend our grantees. Way to Win has also mobilized additional capacities for legal, media relations, digital and political risk management, information technology, crisis management, and accounting and compliance to ensure that no matter what comes our way, we are ready.
We believe transparency is critical, especially as we ramp up the speed of our work. We will continue to track gaps on what’s needed to best position all voters to have their voices heard in this Election. And as always, let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help and advise.
Onwards,
Tory
